No Signal  Installation, 2015. Printed voile fabric, projector
A blue video reading “NO SIGNAL” is fragmented by 6 intercepting pairs of photographs printed on transparent polyester and depicting various distorted, dreamy motifs. The overlapping of textiles creates an analogue moiré interference that, like a glitch in reality, morphs both the individual images and the digital video behind them.
The projection, in turn, answers with erratic movement, bright colours and heavily pixelated versions of the photographs, which overshadow and blur their printed counterparts.
The eyes are overwhelmed and have trouble focussing on the interwoven physical and digital dimensions, which, as in a photograph of a screen, expose here their strange point of contact.
